Dr. Peel is highly experienced in colon and rectal surgery and offers laparoscopic and single incision surgery.  When a cancer is found on colonoscopy, Dr. Peel works to assemble a rapid response team of highly trained medical and radiation oncologists, along with nutrition and physical therapy specialists to develop a plan of care.  Some rectal cancer requires cancer treatment up front before surgery.  The goal of this approach is to shrink the rectal cancer to avoid the need for a colostomy bag at surgery.

Dr. Peel is Chief of the Division of Cancer Surgery at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital and was trained by world-renowned colon and rectal cancer surgery specialists at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
