Sclerotherapy 
    
Injecting the unwanted veins with a sclerosing solution causes the target vein to immediately shrink, and then dissolve over a period of weeks as the body naturally absorbs the treated vein.

Dr. Peel uses a special vein light to illuminate the feeder veins to get to the root of the reticular/spider vein.  In most cases, the sclerosing solution is injected through a very fine needle directly into the vein.  At this point, you may experience mild discomfort and cramping for 1 to 2 minutes, especially when larger veins are injected.  This procedure is considered cosmetic, and is not covered by insurances.
